WHERE DO WE GO ?:
AS AN ARTIST I ALWAYS SEEK WAYS TO COMBINE ALL OF MY PASSIONS AND ART FORMS. THIS PIECE SHOWS AN EXCERPT FROM AN ORIGINAL POEM ENTITLED "WHERE DO WE GO?" THIS POEM DISCUSSES THE TOPIC OF RACISM AND POLICE BRUTALITY THAT BLACK PEOPLE FACE IN AMERIKKKA. THE STARS ARE REPLACED WITH BULLET HOLES AND HASHTAGS TO SIGNIFY THE COUNTLESS CASES OF POLICE BRUTALITY.

SAY HER NAME:
THE PIECE "SAY HER NAME" IS DEDICATED TO THE COUNTLESS BLACK WOMEN WHO HAVE BEEN A VICTIM OF POLICE BRUTALITY. over the years I realized how many our stories remain untold & how many families did not receive the justice that they deserved. The stories I've heard about Sandra bland & Breonna Taylor compelled me to look into other cases of black women who were victims of police brutality & I was shocked by how I only knew two names on this canvas.

BLACK DEPRESSION:
THE PIECE BLACK DEPRESSION WAS CREATED TO SHED LIGHT ON NUMEROUS CASES OF RACISM AND POLICE BRUTALITY AND THE IMPACT THAT IT HAS ON BLACK PEOPLE IN AMERIKKKA.

UNTITLED:
THIS PIECE WAS CREATED AS A SYMBOL OF WHAT I WANT MY ARTWORK TO BRING TO THE BLACK COMMUNITY. EVERY PIECE THAT I CREATE WITH A MESSAGE I HOPE THAT IT WILL ALLOW BLACK PEOPLE OF ALL AGES TO SEE THE GREATNESS WITHIN THEMSELVES. SIGNIFYING ME PLACING THE CROWN ON WHOEVER COMES ACROSS MY ART AND MESSAGE. SHOWING THAT THEY ARE MORE THAN THEY TRY TO TELL US WE ARE.
9X12 SKETCH
DYING LOVE:
THIS PIECE IS SYMBOLISM FOR THE TIMES WHEN WE MAKE THE MISTAKE OF POURING INTO A LOVE THAT NO LONGER SERVES US. THE HOURGLASS REPRESENTS THE TIME THAT WE PUT INTO ONE SIDED RELATIONSHIPS. EVENTUALLY TO THE POINT WHERE WE HAVE NOTHING LEFT TO GIVE. THE BROKEN CHAIN REPRESENTS BREAKING THAT CYCLE & DISCONNECTING FROM TOXIC BEHAVIORS AND PARTNERS. RESULTING IN US GROWING & BLOSSOMING INTO WHO & WHAT WE WERE MEANT TO BE.

LOUD MINDS BRIGHT SMILES:
TIHIS PIECE IS A REPRESENTATION OF THE SILENT BATTLES COUNTLESS PEOPLE FACE WITH MENTAL HEALTH. IT IS OFTEN SAID THAT WE CAN SEE THE TRUTH IN OUR EYES. THE IMAGE HAS THE NOSE & MOUTH AS THE ONLY VISIBLE FEATURES TO SHOW HOW MENTAL HEALTH STRUGGLES  OFTEN MAKE US HIDE HOW WE TRULY FEEL. THE SMILE SHOWS HOW OFTEN TIMES WE HIDE OUR PAIN WITH A SMILE AND "I'M FINE" THE  MIXED THOUGHTS & EMOTIONS CONNECT TO THE WORDS "LOUD MINDS BEHIND BRIGHT SMILES" TO TELL THE VIEWERS THAT STAYING SILENT ABOUT THEIR  ISSUES ARE PARTIALLY THE REASON WHY THEY CONTINUE TO STRUGGLE WITH THEIR MENTAL HEALTH. THIS PIECE WAS MADE TO ENCOURAGE PEOPLE TO SPEAK UP & SEEK THE HELP THAT THEY DESERVE.
